A Look Inside Kenya
For many years, Kenya has struggled with its water supply. Over 16 million people lack access to safe water relying on ponds, shallow wells, and rivers, which carry various dangerous diseases. Recently Kenya was struck with a devastating flood that caused death, landslides, and displaced thousands. Here at Children’s Hunger Relief Fund, with the help of our compassionate donors, we help to provide sources of clean drinking water, in addition to homes for abandoned children, education, and medical care. With the help of our partner, Samaritan Children's Centers, there are more than 70 children who are being given a stable and safe place to call home. At the centers, the children are provided with hot nutritious meals, clean drinking water, and access to education. Teachers and staff at the Samaritan Children's Center, as well as our partner schools, evaluate each child individually. Every child who is brought into the center gets placed into a class which will best suit their needs and level of education. Here children learn to read and write, obtain social skills, and have the means to a much brighter future. Our major water projects supply schools, health centers, churches, and women's centers with clean drinking water year round. Mothers in Kenya greatly rely on one another to care for each other and their children. Large water tank are provided to villages that ensure each member of the group have access to the water they need. Medical care is a luxury that so many take for granted. CHRF helps support local medical programs in Kenya and offers educational seminars to help bring awareness and prevention of deadly diseases throughout the region. Medical treatment such as bandages, immunizations, and other needs are provided, free of cost, to poor families.
Every one of our programs provide a child, and their family, with a glimpse of hope. With your support, we can continue to supply clean drinking water, hot meals, education, and homes for orphaned and abandoned children.
